Ok, I have thought more about this and I agree that being able to turn
items ON/OFF but keep them in the queue is a good idea, and I have a
working implementation of this (not committed to SVN though).  However,
the only 'problem' is the deleting of items, and this is mainly due to
the limitations of dialog.  As it stands we have 4 buttons on that
screen already.  Only when you press OK do you get the selected items
written to dialog's output.  Anyway, the easiest (though maybe not the
most efficient) way to do this is have the current view queue screen
basically the same, but with the ability to turn individual items ON or
OFF.  Then, in the separate "Clear Queue" menu entry that already
exists, turn this into another checklist where people can delete
individual items (by deselecting them) or delete the whole queue.  It
puts the deleting in a different screen than the 'View' screen, but
again, I think this is mainly because we're starting to bump up against
the limitations of dialog.
