Hi Chess,

Hope you had a great festive season. Since we are talking about future
ideas, I thought that I might put one or two into the mix.

How about running sbopkg at startup, automatically rsyncing and
checking for updates and then, notifying you with a pop up box saying
that "sbopkg has found updates available." You would then have to run
sbopkg to find the updates and their dependencies.

Secondly, could sbopkg do the same job as slackpkg and download and
upgrade official Slackware packages? This would then allow only one
update program on the computer, which would reduce complexity for the
user, but more importantly it might make more people use Slackbuilds
and therefore increase the package library for both Slackbuilds and
Slackware. After all the only real complaint that anyone has about
Slackware is the lack of packages available. Whilst you and I know
this is a fallacy, newbies do not and anything that makes migrating to
Slackware easier for them has to be good.
